Earthworm Jim, SNES & Genesis
Lip, the Fairy of Flowers, Panel De Pon, Super Famicom
This game’s theme was changed from fairies to Yoshi’s Island and was released as Tetris Attack in the States! I wonder… is the Yoshi in Tetris Attack just Lip with a costume on?
Goemon, Ganbare Goemon/Mystical Ninja, various platforms
"My name’s not FERNANDEZ!"
Cormano, Sunset Riders, Arcade/SNES/Genesis
BURY ME WITH MY MONEY
Firebrand, Demon’s Crest, SNES
A lot of people wanted him, so here’s Firebrand/Red Arremer! I kind of wanted to illustrate the green version that’s on the US cover of Gargoyle’s Quest instead of the real Firebrand, haha…
Happy Halloween everyone!
Skeleton T, Puyo Puyo series, various platforms
The easiest opponent in Puyo Puyo is far from being scary or even spooky… until you start to think about where all that tea he drinks could possibly go. WOOOOOoooooooooOOOOOO
Umihara Kawase, SNES, PS1, PSP and DS
One of my all time favorite overlooked games, Umihara Kawase is Bionic Commando if Rad had a bouncy fishing line instead of a robotic arm. It’s super hard, but incredibly fun! Track down the definitive DS version if you can.
Cotton and Silk, Cotton series, various platforms
This little witch could really care less about saving the world. The only thing worth any effort is candy! Thankfully, the bad guys have the biggest stashes.
Pocky and Rocky, SNES
A shrine maiden and tanuki make the best of friends!
Sorry I haven’t been updating as regularly as usual! I fell into a bit of an art slump, but I think I’m out of it now.
Meanwhile, one of my favorite artists, stepsoversnails, started a Tumblog where he draws nothing but indie game characters! It is called Huzzah!, and he started with one of my favorites! Be sure to follow it!
“Hey! This isn’t my flag!”
(Woah, lots of red guys this week! Totally unintentional!)
